Website SEO, or Search Engine Optimisation, is a fancy way of saying a simple thing – “Get me in the Top 10
search results on Google.”
That is basically what everyone is trying to achieve. The golden rule is simple, if you can get in the Top 10 of Google (the first page of results) for key phrases associated with your website, then your objective has been achieved!
OK, I’ve told you the solution, now to explain how you can get there in simple and straightforward steps.
I’ve tried a heck of a lot over the last five years in terms of experimenting with different types of software and trying different techniques to get on that first page of Google, some of them have worked and others have worked consistently well.
Key lesson learnt = there are no short-cuts to ‘get seen quick.’
The essence of the process is simple – you write good honest content about a relatively specific subject matter. You write the content using words and phrases that people wanting to read your content would use. Then you ensure that your article, browser title (or page title), page description and url extension are all tailored to reflect the subject you have written about.
Nothing more, nothing less.
So, where’s the catch?
Well, the main issue that most people don’t seem to like is the fact that they have to do it time and time again, therefore proving to Google and the other search engines that YOU are a genuine EXPERT (or at least knowledgeable) within this particular field.
This is why people a constantly looking for short-cuts.
They don’t like the fact that they have to keep constantly adding new content, taking the time to write unique and interesting copy. Plus, allowing time to Google to recognise and trust them enough to place them on the their front page.
Yes, your SEO strategy should include ‘link-building’ as this does improve your Google Page Ranking, yet I have regularly reached the Top 5 on Google for pages that do not have any page rank or in-bound links. They simply have clear, keyword rich content that has good quality on-page optimisation.

Thats good advice. I get cold called at least once a week, by a specialist SEO firm, who ‘can guarantee me better placements’ than I currently get, then sometimes for fun, I’ll look at my placements with them, they tend to go fairly soon after that..
The point I find hard to fathom out, is which terms, people are using for doing net seaching, so that I can optimise for them.

Nice and simple, there’s just no getting around it huh. Too many people think that the net offers a way to make money doing nothing, but in reality is it something that has to be worked and worked hard to make a living. I always say it ’s all about keywords and if you don;t understand the true value of keywords then you’re going round in circles. Thanks.
